Country Club of Petersburg

The Country Club of Petersburg was founded in 1921, established as a private member-owned "not for profit" 501c7 organization. The Club was initially located in the "Walnut Hill" Area in Petersburg, Virginia. The "old Club" as it is affectionately referred to featured a nine hole Donald Ross golf course, tennis courts, swimming pool and grand clubhouse that featured an expansive veranda with columns. The Club moved to its current site in 1969. Bordered by Richard Bland College to the east, and Flank road to the west; the Club is located on 188 acres between Birdsong and Johnson roads.

As a member-owned organization, a Board of Directors, made up of 13 Members, governs the Club. There are seven advisory Committees and seven operating departments reporting to a General Manager who serves as an ex-officio on the Committees and Board. Membership is by invitation. Candidates must be sponsored and endorsed by current Members.
